this new legislation will not affect the supply of Spiritualistic services (religious services in Spiritualist Churches) but it is not as yet clear-cut whether or not it might apply to misleading activities related to the supply of some esoteric or holistic services. In the capacity of a religious body, a Spiritualist Church and its members will come within the ambit of article 9 of the Human Rights Act 1998, relating to "freedom of thought, conscience and religion". Spiritualists should therefore be in a position to continue their religion and religious services and the contents thereof (including demonstrations of clairvoyance), without any hindrance from outside authorities.
